As the temperature in the basketball court soared up to 30 degrees, both teams started the match slowly, they all had very good defensive skills, so it was really hard to score a goal.
The first quarter ended with Papua New Guinea girls leading in front by 10 points, (15-5) it was a very intensive first quarter, both of the teams fought really hard.
The crowd was all cheering for the New Caledonia girls when they scored three goals in a row, with determination and good teamwork skills, the New Caledonia girls fought really hard to make a comeback; eight minutes into the match, the scores were tied (21-21).
When the half time bell rang, the New Caledonia girls had made a great comeback; they went from losing 10 points in the first quarter to leading by 5 points.
The Papua New Guinea girls fought really hard, but they couldn't stop the New Caledonia girls from scoring.
The New Caledonia girls dominated the third quarter, and they lead by 15 points by the end of the third quarter; the Papua New Guinea fought really hard, and scored some great goals.
Papua New Guinea’s Sherah Yawasing (8 points, 18 rebounds) top scored for her team, while New Caledonia’s Allissonne Laukau had a monster 20 points and 24 rebounds.
During the intense fourth quarter, both of the teams played really well, and they performed amazing shots. The Papua New Guinea girls moved really fast to get the balls, but the New Caledonia girls beat them in tactics. In the end, the New Caledonia girls won by 23 points. (69 – 46)
