Ovinou Goes Down to Armenian
Papua New Guinea's lone Judoka Raymond Ovinou's 2012 Olympic Games has come to an end. Going down to Armenian Armen Nazaryan in the round of 32. He progressed through the round of 64 due to a bye but was stopped in his tracks by the Armenian, who 21 seconds in to the fight produced the winning move, an Ippon, automatically winning him the contest.
An Ippon is accomplished by either throwing an opponent to the ground and pinning them for 25 seconds, a throw resulting in the oppenant landing on his back, applying a arm hold or a strangle hold causing the opponent to submit.

Although Raymond went out in the round of 32, qualifying for the Olympic games in itself was a great achievement!
Well Done Raymond
