Choosing to only take part in his pet event, the Men’s 100m Butterfly, this should be an indication to his competitors that this seasoned professional will give this, his last Olympics an almighty go.
A solid training program, one that included a high altitude camp in China has Ryan in the best shape for the games. Following on from a string of good performances, including some of his personal best times, Ryan could be a dark horse in London.
But coming up against the likes of USA's Michael Phelps, he will have to swim out of his skin and this will not be an easy task.
